The smokehouse has invested in a 50kW solar array, with an estimated 95% of the electricity generated being consumed on site.
Paper consumption has been reduced by more than 85%, while packaging materials including polystyrene are recycled wherever possible.
Fish and shellfish by-products are also repurposed rather than simply treated as waste, making better use of the raw materials that pass through the business.
